Title: Martha Jeffery
Post by: dismo on Friday 25 April 25 13:19 BST (UK)
My great x 6 grandmother was a Martha Jeffery (married name I think) born around in 1760s. Her son was Faustin Jeffery 1789-1866. I found a Sarah Faustin, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Faustin in Petherton, Somerset. But I could find not mention of a Martha (possible sister) or of Sarah having married or indeed the marriage of Thomas to Elizabeth. If anyone can help I would be so grateful.

<<I found a Sarah Faustin, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Faustin in Petherton, Somerset.>>

Is that North Petherton (nr Bridgwater) or South Petherton (nr Ilminster and Crewkerne)?

There is a family tree on FS that has the same Faustin Jeffery (1789-1866) different mother? Or is it just a coincidence?

1851 shows Faustin was b Huntspill.  He has a daughter Martha aged 14 b London

Could be Martha Vashti Jeffery b 1837 mmn Eidmann

Where did you get the info that his mother was Martha?

They are both mentioned in a will of Richard Symes of Huntspill dated 1818. Faustin is Richard's godson and Martha is his daughter in law but I cannot find anything else about Martha except a possible marriage to Richard Jeffery in 1785 with the name Nunns.
