There is another possible. Jane Thornton, daughter of Thomas and Mary of Blaby, born on 24th December 1786, baptised in Wigston Magna on 19th January 1787.
Possible marriage to Thomas Thornton by licence on 13th June 1822 in Blaby.
Joanna Thornton was a witness and, born 1781, she was possibly buried in Blaby on 10th March 1833.

Thank you DCB
Yes I did see the Jane Thornton Baptism & beginning to think she maybe a daughter.
The marriage you have referred to in my copy of Blaby Parish register it reads
Thomas Thornton Marr 13 June 1822 to Jane Thornton in the notes it says she a Thornton he of St Margaret's B of Leicester.
This couple have a daughter Mary Cooper Thornton in 1823 After her mother dies in 1843 she appears to live with her father's brother George Thornton in Blaby . I have George Thornton's Will and he mentions Mary as his niece. So this Thomas Thornton is a son of Thomas Thornton & Mary Cooper
I have the information on Joannah Thornton Thank you

Just a small point, the register and licence both have Thomas of St Margaret and Jane of Blaby.

She would still be George’s niece if she was living with her mother’s brother George.
And were they already living with him when Jane died?

Yes looks like Jane died t her brother in laws I will send for her death cert
So Thomas & Mary had a son Thomas who married Jane in 1822 will have to try and find a Non Conformist Baptism for him !!
The Jane Thornton that was baptized in Wigston Magna the record states she was from Blaby baptism 19 Jan 1787.
Anyway thanks again

The only Thomas Thornton in the Blaby area was the son of Bishop Thornton and Jane Billings in 1788.
Bishop Thornton married Jane Billings on 3 Nov 1777 in Blaby.
The only Jane is to Thomas and Mary.
As mckha489 points out, Mary could be the daughter of Jane, sister of George, which would also make her his niece.

Hi
Yes I understand what you are saying
Mary Cooper Thornton's baptism says Non Conformist Register Indenpendent
Mary Cooper Thornton daughter of Thomas Thornton & Jane his wife of the Parish of St Margaret's Leicester was born July 24 1823 baptized August 14 1823
So Mary Cooper Thornton who went to live with her uncle George Thornton was not from Blaby but from Leicester
If she was a daughter of Jane Thornton Jane would have been about 37 when she had her.
I think she is more lightly to be the daughter of Thomas Thornton & Jane married in 1822
Have sent for death certs for Jane & Thomas to see if there are any clues there Thanks for you help
