Hi,
I'm trying to work out what this service record is telling me. I understand his ships: June 1921-June 1923.
But I'd particularly like some help with:
1) the info under the 'remarks' section please. (I can see some references to Leicester and I know he ended up there by 1930 so I'd like to know if these remarks can help me understand why Leicester as he was born in Southampton).
2) his joining up period (top right) states 5 + 7 years. I know that this man actually was in the Merchant Navy by August 1923....how would he have left the Royal Navy after only two years if it had signed up for a minimum period - and why doesn't it state this on his service record?
This is the only Royal Navy record I can find for this person (have checked Ancestry, FindMyPast and TNA; this one comes from TNA and is replicated at Ancestry).
Full record is at:
1) https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/60522/records/129327?tid=202575698&pid=362648854214&queryId=6c151b80-2f43-44ea-ae99-36f6840cf9b1&_phsrc=pxd12372&_phstart=successSource
2) https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7084264
Thank you in advance.

The word "Run" tells us that he deserted from the Royal Navy.

Aha! Thank you, that explains a lot.
Have you any idea about the Remarks section and Leicester link please?
