Could someone please find me the intentions to marry for the couple here.
Gavin Matthew and Jessie Kurth. They were married in NZ 1937. I am hoping to see how long Gavin had been in NZ prior to wedding.
Thanks.

Welcome back, Telephonist :)
I can certainly look for the ITM Notice for you but I will need both the place and the precise date of marriage, please.
You’ve posted this topic in Resources & Offers; I’ll move it to the main New Zealand Board.

An online search reveals their date of marriage: 24 April 1937.
I still need the location, however.

Thanks I have just worked out the date as 24 April 1937. They married in Pukeatua, Te Awamutu Waikato.
Hope this helps, thanks

It does, thank you.

Hi Telephonist,
There are eight Intention to Marry (ITM) files for 1937, four of which relate to Hamilton close to Te Awamutu. These are held at Archives New Zealand's Auckland office.
https://collections.archives.govt.nz/en/web/arena/search#/?q=intention+to+marry+1937
The other four ITM files seem to be from the original register and divided into regions.
I hope the one I've ordered for you is the correct one:
Notices of Intention to Marry 1937 Pages 889 to 1743 Kawakawa to Hastings
ID: R2840588
If it isn't you will need to approach Archives New Zealand's Auckland office.

Thanks for your reply and info, can you please explain to me how to use it?
Do i need to contact archives?
Thanks Margaret

Hi Margaret,
No, I was just advising you that I have ordered that particular file for you. You don’t need to do anything.
I will go in to Archives NZ and take a photo of the relevant page, assuming I find them, of course. Then I’ll email the image to you.
I hope to go in tomorrow.

Hello Margaret.
I live in the Waikato, and have on occasion visited the Auckland Branch of Archives NZ to look up, and photograph old records held, and not yet digitized. Then forwarded to out of town/NZ RootsChat members. Both SPADES, and I, are registered "readers" and can book items to view by appointment.
If the one you actually want, is one held at Auckland, I could arrange a look up, but my volunteer commitments are such, that it would not be before August.
Good luck.
Alan.
