Title: Catherine Jones Y Bala
Post by: ger1 on Monday 21 April 25 13:56 BST (UK)
Afternoon I've become a bit stuck trying to trace my great great grandmother's family from Bala. I know that she married her husband Griffith Williams in Capel Newydd Bala in 1859 and she was 21. Her father is noted as Edward Jones a gamekeeper. Unfortunately there are quite a few Edward Jones' and can't quite find a fit. There are baptisms which can match in places like Llanycil and Llanfor but on the marriage certificate she lives in Bala. If she was from Llanfor would she have got married there? Grateful of any help.

She could have married in Bala/Llanycil  even if she was born in Llanfor.

The 1961 census has her born Bala (Lllanycil)

Have you checked both civil births  and non-conformist baptisms?
