Title: William Humphrey Bevan Mitchell - Occupation and 1956 Passenger to Mobassa

Hi
William and family appear to have travelled to Mombassa, Kenya in 1956, wife Norah and 3 children . I am interested in what William's occupation was. Born in Ireland, married in Ireland in 1948, the family seem to have travelled to Australia in the 1960's as well, he died in Perth Australia. Any info would be appreciated.

Their marriage is indexed here, Nora Croxon and William "Milhill" (image 2 is the correct one, middle names confirm this is the right couple - handwriting on the certificate is quite bad.

His occupation was civil engineer.   Look like he graduated from Trinity College Dublin and in Australia worked for one of the rail companies - he might have been doing similar work in Kenya.

From the 1948 marriage record, his father Charles Hoffe Mitchell, an architect.

His father in 1911 Irish census.
