Both Rene Nicquet and Charles Nicquet are given here as 'cousin remue de ?'
Any ideas what the word that little abbreviation is for?

Could be g'n = germain

You are correct, jorose. The word cousin is frequently followed by the word germain.
Remué is an archaic word, nowadays they use issu.
Following wikipedia page gives a lot of information about cousins (en Français ;D )
