Thank you Elinga for your reply.
After days of frustration I found a website called
“Regnal years”
The periods of time each monarch reigned
A bit difficult to get your head round, but found out
That
 I.e
30 Hen 8 or V11 is the 30th year of Henry V11’s reign
Which began 29 years after his coronation on
22 Apr 1538
He reigned 1509-1547.

I have lots of documents with dates on so it’s just a case of working out which king or Queen was on the throne at the time.
Thank you again. Regards Jenny

Also in Wikipedia here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regnal_years_of_English_and_British_monarchs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regnal_years_of_English_and_British_monarchs)

10 Hen 5 is the 10th year of the reign of Henry 5th which seems to be between 21 Mar-31 Aug 1422, as Henry died that year.
However 1g Kic 2 is not valid.  Is it Ric 2, i.e. Richard 2nd, 1377-99?  The 'g' may be another number.
