Hi everyone, I need a bit of help to push me in the right direction.
I have some references from the National Archives database and want to know if I can get further into them on the web.
I am trying to locate my GGF, Daniel Flynn, born in Ireland but served with the 10th foot (1st Bat.) from the 1850s to mid 70s.
I am hoping that I can get details of his birth and marriage from his enlistment papers.
The references are: WO/WO12/2788 - 2814
Any suggestions or advice will be more than welcome.

carolyn if his attestation papers are at the N/A then they should give date of birth,next of kin etc,there should be pension records as well,going off his lenghth of service,mack

someone will correct me if I'm wrong
the reference WO12 is for Muster books; now from memory these are very large bound volumes and it's possible you will have a long trawl looking for your man with little information at the end of it, these books were used for the day to running of the Regt.
If you can find him you should get name, age, place of enlistment, trade but no birthplace! after 1863 and up to 1883 you should get any wife or children but only if they were in married quarters.
You're better off to try for Attestation or discharge papers, (these should be filed together) and they will be in a different series.
