William Jervis/Jarvis Lusby b.1846 Rothwell, Lincolnshire was, on the 1881 census, a widower. In 1883 he married Elizabeth Metcalf b.1842 Broughton, which is beside the point.
In 1870 it appears that he married Sarah Eleanor Button at Louth, and the 1871 census shows a William Lusby, b.1847 Rothwell in Holton le Clay with 'Sary Elenor' b.1846 Reepham and her son 3 year old William Head* (I'm assuming Edward) Button born in Faldingworth, Lincolnshire.
The only William Button I can find born in Faldingworth around 1868 is William Edward Button b.1867, son of Herman Button and Sarah Jane Sellerby. Herman and Sarah were married in 1867 and Herman died in 1868.
From Herman's death, his wife completely disappears while William Edward appears to be with William Lusby and his wife Sarah Eleanor Button.
I can find no Sarah Jane Sellerby born around 1846, nor a Sarah Jane Ellerby or Sarah Jane Selby, and no Sarah Eleanor anything. So I'm assuming that Sarah Jane Button is Sarah Eleanor Button, based solely on the appearance of William Edward Button with William Lusby in 1871. Sarah Eleanor Lusby died in 1880.
Can anyone help me find either of these women to determine if they are the same person or two separate people.?
Thank you.

On her marriage to Herman she signed Sarah Jane Selby - father William Selby occ Foreman. The wedding was at Toft Newton
ADDED
On the same date Sarah Jane Button (father Edward) married William Watkinson.
Sarah Jane Button was Hermans sister ::)

Mmn on 1867 birth for William Edward Button is Waby
-
@Rosie99, Ah, so it's Selby, not Sellerby. That makes things a little clearer. Thank you.
-
@CaroleW, Oh... that's thrown me. Is there no birth with mmn Selby for a William Edward.?
-
William Edward Buttons baptism on 30th June 1867 gives his parents as Herman and Sarah Jane of Faldingworth
-
@Rosie99, yes, that's right. I think he is with William Lusby in 1871, as Herman died in 1868. The 1871census shows a William Button with Sarah Eleanor and William Lusby in Holton le Clay.

GRO online search 1866-1870 has no other William Edward Button entry apart from the 1867 entry. Faldingworth came under the Lincoln RD for that period
-
Waby could be a poor transcription of Selby
Or the other way round
Sarah Waby
Baptism 19 Dec 1847 Repham, Lincoln, England
Father William Waby
Mother Mary

@Mabel Bagshawe, Thank you for looking. So the surname goes from Waby to Selby to Sellerby, because of transcription errors :o
-
@CaroleW, Thank you. No wonder I'm having so much trouble trying to find William and his mother. So Waby is the mmn. That's a start. :)
