My Great grandfather deserted his family (Ireland) to Southport, Lancashire for a woman, in the 1950s. No idea if he married her or had any more kids. No one ever spoke about it. I'm determined to find out.
He died some time in 1975, Southport, Lancashire. William James Magee, born 1908 Co. Down. His son, was his next of kin and had to go over from N Ireland.
I have no idea if he was buried in England or N Ireland, assuming England logistically. Where could i find out about burials in Southport etc in 1975?

His name appears on the index at Southport Crematorium https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G97M-1RW1?cat=1910612&i=24&lang=en
I think you’d need to contact them to ask if his ashes were scattered there or returned to his family for burial elsewhere.
