There's a marriage of Joan Bridges and John Symes, "sojourner", at Puckington St Andrew, in 1775.

I found a burial for a Martha Jeffery in 1818 and I know wh is mentioned in a. will of Richard Symes in the same year

If you go to the FreeREG site and enter the surname Symes and 1700-1850 you get the Bridges/Symes marriage and five baptisms. Might be a start.
