Friston thing I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in the past and hopefully in the future.
I am looking info on a Joseph and Eliza Campbell they might be my great grand parents Joseph was born in county down about 1883 and I think Eliza was born in Ireland around the same time
I got a clue on ancestory they where on the 1881 census for Scotland and lived in Shettleston Lanarkshire
The reason I think who they are is two of their childern that I know of where born about the same date as I have Jose was in county down in 1865 and died in Belfast in1885 the time between that I know nothing about him maybe he moved to Scotland and then back to Ireland his wife's maden name was Heathwood
Thankyou

If they were born in 1883 they wouldn’t be on the 1881 census. Are the birth years correct :-\

On the 1881 census you refer to Joseph is 48 and Eliza 38 both born Ireland.
There are 9 children listed as well. 7 born in Scotland 2 in England.
-
Sorry it was 1831 would it be possible to find the childerns names
-

If you go to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and register, you can view the LDS transcription of the 1881 census free of charge. You can also view, at modest cost, the originals of every census from 1841 to 1921.
If you have a subscription to FindMyPast you can view transcriptions of the 1841 to 1901 censuses of Scotland. These transcriptions have a number of quirks, however, and you should always plan to check them for accuracy by viewing the originals at Scotland's People.
You can view the 1901 and 1911 census of Ireland at https://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

That is the family of Joseph Campbell and Eliza(beth) Clegg whose children included
Jane, born 1864 in New Monkland
Joseph Alexander, born 6 June 1872 in New Monkland
David, born 4 March 1874 in New Monkland
Elizabeth, born 1876 in Lanchester
Margaret, born 1878 in New Monkland
Sarah, born 2 January 1881 in New Monkland
So if you are sure that your Eliza's maiden name was Heathwood, this family is not the right one.
In the indexes to Scottish statutory records of births, marriages and deaths there are no births of a Campbell with mother's maiden surname Heathwood, no marriages of a Campbell to a Heathwood, no deaths of a Campbell with mother's maiden surname Heathwood, and no deaths of a Campbell with other surname Heathwood. This doesn't exclude the possibility that there were births or deaths where the mother's maiden surname has yet to be added to the index, but most births before 1900 do have the mother's maiden surname indexed.
So what do you definitely know for certain about your Joseph Campbell's family?

Sorry for time wasting wrong family the Joseph I have was married to Eliza Heathwood
Thankyou all again

It's not time wasting - you have to follow a line of enquiry and see where it takes you, even if only to eliminate it from your research.

What are the names, dates and place of birth for their children?
