Title: Restoration Request for loord74 George Bell 30th Sept 1916
Post by: markw78 on Wednesday 19 March 25 17:40 GMT (UK)
Hello Loord74
Seen the other pictures you magically restored with amazing detail and would like to ask if you could do similar for the attached image of my wife's great uncle George Bell 30th Sept 1916. He was killed at the start of the Battle of Loos 25 September to 8 October 1915 with the 4th Black Watch which decimated the regiment recruited for Dundee.. to this day the war memorial on the Law is illuminated to remember this battle.. his father was only told he had died a year after the battle..
You can read more here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-34289582

We would be so gratefully if you could as his body was never recovered and this is the only picture we have of him. His memorial in France is only on a wall plague with his name inscribed..

Regards
Mark W

loord74,

Yet again another stunning restoration.  For completeness he should have the Black Watch capbadge on the side of his Tam o' Shanter, above the left ear. You can see an example of the badge here (https://griffinmilitaria.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/80887-1-600x565.jpg)
