Is 1871 when he died or when he was born?

Have you checked freebmd?

What is the last census you have him on?

Do you mean that you know he died in 1871 in Gainsborough? Or is that when he was born?

No birth or death 1871 - you need to clarify

This is on freebmd

FreeBMD is not showing anything in 1871, as pointed out by CaroleW.  There is a birth in 1867, and a possible corresponding death in 1868 in Spalding Registration District.

Tomm has sent me a pm - he is helping a friend.

WFL was b 1787 - doesn't know where.  died 1871  Lincolnshire - that's all he has

There is no 1851 or 1861 entry matching that birthyear

Tomm - please ask your  friend for some details re who WFL  married.  Has he looked for him on a census to establish his birthplace?

Where has he got the info from that he died Lincs 1871?

Tomm - may be worth checking the birthyear with your friend as the 1851 entry is 20yrs difference in age to a 1787 birthyear.

1851 has Frederick aged 43. A contender for his baptism,

William Frederick Lieavesley, bap 19th March 1808, Gainsborough, Lincs. Parents Thomas(a Baker) & Elizabeth.
