Hi All!
Fairly new to family research in SA, and needing some assistance in accessing some records from the state archives. I’ve found the names on the indexes, but it appears these specific records aren’t available online, and can only be viewed/copied in person, or ordered via request with a cost.
I was wondering if anyone was local and would be heading in to look at records, and might be able to also help me out by looking up the ones I need?
GRG 29/121 - mandates committing children into care (1880s)
GRG 29/1 - SCD correspondence files (1891)
GRS 13461 - admissions to the lunatic asylum (late 1800s)
(I’m also unsure of how that process looks/how easy it is to find/view/copy records, so I have a bit of a list, with a few different names, and am happy to cut it back to prioritise the ones I need most in discussion with whoever might be able to help!)
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Have you thought of 'Asking a Librarian' at the 'South Aus Library'?
They MAY be able to help - or even offer some advice.

Hi Valerie!
I’m interstate, so can’t go ask in person. I’ve had a good look at their information online, and if I request via email, then there’s a cost involved, which I unfortunately can’t justify at this point in time sadly!

i have previously used this, for some hints without a charge
