Title: Help identifying crossed out word
Post by: roycymru on Saturday 08 March 25 07:14 GMT (UK)
Please see attached from this full entry https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/2353/records/3013937
There seems to be 2 entries for W H Jones, both of which have been crossed out and one replaced by “Nephew”. Any idea of what the original word was, as it may be of significance.

Thank you

Thank you for the feedback. Relitive clarified to Nephew seems like a good match, and although no age is given for the first W Jones he does seem like and older different person, also a relitive.

I think the first “W” is born Cwmavon and the second Merthyr

The wife is Ann and I think this is the family in 1901

My main interest is W H Jones. I think this is William Henry Jones who married a Gertrude Herz in 1928, where his marriage address is the same as this address in 1911, 37 Graig View, Corlanna, Averavon, in the marriage certificate his father is given as Henry Jones a Steel Worker. In 1939 (married but on his own) his DOB is given as 09 Mar 1902 but the year is probably actually 1903. Can’t obviously find him in 1921 or his parents and how he actually relates to Richard Jones.

From birth entries of their children Ann is Ann Watkins. This is earliest entry I can find for Richard where he is with his parents and a brother John
