I have a number of ancestors who passed at fairly young ages in 1837. They were not miners. What kind of disease was going around that year?

People died of lots of things compared to today, but there was apparently an influenza epidemic

Various death notices say “of the prevailing epidemic”
If they died in the last quarter of 1837 you can get their death certs (Jpeg for £3)
There might be a death notice that gives cause of death.
Occasionally the burial record gives cause.
