This is going to be quite a long shot due to the frequent surname. But I wondered if anyone could help search for the maiden name of Jane Smith (b.1869) who married Joseph Smith (b. Nov 1869). They lived in Ilkeston during their lives and had 5 children

- Jane

Gro indexes give children's mothers maiden name as Moore
eg Hilda May Smith 1897 March Q Basford mmn Moore
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ click on order certificates online, you do have to register but all free.

1911 Census
Jane Smith says married 22 years 6 children 5 living and 1 deceased. So missing a child somewhere.
Difficult to tell the other child as there is another family Smith/Moore having children

Belvoir Terrace, Ilkeston, Basford, Derbyshire
Going by the 1871 census, Jane was probably the daughter of William Moore, b 1825 in Heanor, and Mary Ann Ball, b 1828 in Heanor.
She was baptised, together with her brother, Thomas, on 25th November 1871, in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.
A number of trees on Ancestry with the Moore family, but none seem to have Jane's marriage.

William Moore married Mary Ann Ball at Mount Zion Chapel, Heanor, in 1849

I am torn between Jane's mother being Mary Ann Ball or Mary Ann Capes, I have found two potential Jane Moores born 1869 Derbyshire so am unsure.

Buying a copy of her marriage cert to establish her fathers name & occupation may help
There is also the possibility that one of her siblings may have been a witness

From trees on Ancestry:-
William Moore who married Mary Ann Capes is on the 1851 census in Alfreton. On the later censuses, he is in Howell, Lincolnshire, but no daughter named Jane.
