Title: James McEvoy
Post by: isiwig on Tuesday 04 March 25 22:20 GMT (UK)
Please can anyone throw any light on James McEvoy born c. 1825 in Ireland or possibly Liverpool.  He married Elizabeth Rourke and had 6 children.  No marriage record found for this couple but their first child Annie Teresa McEvoy was born in Liverpool in 1855.  The family remained in Liverpool.
James McEvoy's possible parents are James McEvoy and Mary Ann Corcoran both born in Ireland and both Baptised at St. Catherine's Church Dublin, 1781 and 1785 respectively.  They married in St Nicholas´ (Without), Dublin city in 1807.
Would be grateful for any help.  Thanks. Isi.

The logical place to start would be baptisms in Liverpool.

Yes thanks, I've checked all records I can for Liverpool but no success.  I've also asked for help on this site for Liverpool but nothing so I did wonder whether the census records were wrong and he might have been baptised in Ireland as other children of this couple were.  Isi.
