Title: RIC Transfer
Post by: Clemans on Tuesday 04 March 25 06:15 GMT (UK)
Can anyone help?

In 1878 my great great uncle Terence McKenna joined the Royal Irish Constabulary.  He was transferred in 1879 to ??? (I cannot decipher it).

Any clues?

Thanks

He was mentioned in Petty Sessions Court Registers on Find My Past.
A charge against a drunk in a public place, and another for someone who let their ass stray on the public road.
I didn't do a newspaper search. There might be more there.

It is shocking, shocking, to consider the dreadful deeds of the ruffians and gurriers that once populated our fair land.

Letting his ass out - transported for sure! And fair play to the brave constable McKenna for apprehending the felon.
