PHILIP DENNY died on 18 Jan 1917 after serving with the Cameron Highlanders. Aged 42, he was the son of Charles Denny and the late Ann Denny (nee Gallacher).
Philip died in the Joint Fever Hospital in Dunbarton but his usual address was 43 New Street, Dumbarton. His death was registered by his sister Agnes McClement, also of 43 New Street.
Philip is entitled to War Grave status if proof of burial can be found.
Does anyone know where Philip Denny is Buried?
Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend asking West Dunbartonshire Council https://www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/
If he is buried in one of the cemeteries for which they hold records, they will be able to tell you, and if not they will be able to give you contact details for any burial grounds they don't manage.

West Dunbartonshire checked, no trace. Same applies to RC church (St Mary's), Duntocher,
Any further suggestions very welcome.

Dumbarton reporter or Lennox Herald
These are local papers for that area

Hello, I am from Dumbarton and I don't know of a "New Street" could it have been Quay Street? it could maybe be why the West Dumbartonshire Council have no record of his death? I'd double check the address.
Did you find it on Ancestry or Scotlands People? Ancestory for the most part needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
The Denny family have a family vault/lair in Dumbarton Cementary.
If you call Dumbarton Libary they have a name index of death notices published in the Lennox Herald,the local newspaper. They may be able to help shine a light.

Just to add Dumbarton archive at Dumbarton Library have an original Denny family tree in a handwritten scroll.

At a rough guess this tree will be of the Denny shipbuilding family who were very prominent in Dumbarton for many years. William Denny married Christian McIntyre in Dumbarton in 1801. I believe that his parents were John Denny and Agnes Lang, whose family were born in Dumbarton between 1777 and 1784.
Philip Denny (1874-1917) was the son of Charles Denny and grandson of Philip Denny, quarrier, born in Ireland about 1795. There are three Philip Dennys in the whole of Scotland in 1841, all in the same household in Cardross. One aged 50 and one aged 48, both born in Ireland, and one aged 15, born in Scotland.
So if I were you I wouldn't get too excited about the tree in Dumbarton Archives.
