Hi
I am struggling to find out what happened to 2 sisters:
Arline M Illingworth (b.1896) and Mary E Illingworth (b.1901).
They were the daughters of Edward Illingworth (1870-1943) and Florence Midwood (1869-1946).
Arline M Illingworth was born 25th June 1896 in Somersworth, New Hampshire;
Mary E Illingworth was born 1st June 1901 in Maine.
The family are in Washington, Maine in 1900 (Arline is listed as Arlene I Illingworth):
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6W33-9SQ?view=index&action=view&lang=en
They are in Hollis, Maine in 1910:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MR3L-R6H?lang=en
They are in Dover, New Hampshire in 1920:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MH8F-FH2?lang=en
All subsequent census' Arline and Mary aren't present.
I have found on ancestry some street directories with Arline M Illingworth living with her father and siblings at 57 Back River Rd, Dover, New Hampshire - the latest year she is listed is 1917.
Mary E Illingworth is listed in the street directory at 57 Back River Rd, Dover, New Hampshire - the latest date she is listed is 1928.
I can't find any marriage or death of either Arline or Mary.
There is another Arline (Arlene) Illingworth showing up on records but she is a niece.
The surname is sometimes spelt Illingworth and sometimes Illingsworth.
Can anybody please try to find Arline and Mary?
Thanks
Darin (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)

Hi, I read the 1910 US Census which indicated that Arline M.Illingworth was 16 yrs. Old. Born in 1894, Hollis Township,York County, Maine.
I also found on the England & Wales Civil Registration Marriage Index 1916-2005. A Spouse: Peter Mitchell, Married Jul 1963,Rotherham,West Riding; Vol. 2 ,page 1438. This information was on Ancestry.

Thank you for your reply.
The English Arline is a different person.
The Arline Illingworth that married in Emgland 1963 was born in England in 1942.
Thanks
Darin.

So 3 sister and 4 brothers survive.
Sandra
Added Noticed Olive E Illingworth died 7 July 1937 and buried Hillcrest Cemetery. Hollis (same as Edward and Florence, the parents) If Arlene and Mabel had passed away you would think they would be buried locally as well !! They are elusive.

That's brilliant Sandra
So they were both deceased before 1970.
That's narrowing it down.
I did look for the parents obituaries in 1943 and 1946 but I couldn't locate them.
Thanks again
Darin.

Hi again
I've just seen a newspaper article about another sister who died in 1937 aged 30:
Biddeford-Saco Journal
9th July 1937:
"Former Hollis Girl died in Dover, N.H.
Miss Olive E. Illingworth, 30, died Monday at the home of her parents, Edward and Florence (Midwood) Illingworth, in Dover, N.H.
She was born in Hollis, moving to Dover 26 years ago.
She leaves behind her parents, 4 sisters, Mrs. Mabel McTavey of Dover, Mrs Beatrice Horne of Rochester, Mrs. Mary Sullivan of Norfolk, Mass., and Mrs. Mildred Stevens of Dover:
5 brothers.
Edward of Haverhill, Mass., Joseph of West Buxton, Vernon, Norman and Ralph of Dover.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Hollis."
So Mary married Sullivan.
And no mention of Arline so she died between 1920 and 1937.
