Title: Shepherd Sisters of Prudhoe
Post by: hexhamlad on Saturday 01 March 25 15:03 GMT (UK)
Having trouble tracing two sisters, members of the Shepherd family of Prudhoe, Northumberland.

Emma or Emily Shepherd  b 1975

Isabella Shepherd              1877

Both in census until 1891 then disappear without trace, nothing in marriage or deaths on FreeBMD. Any assistance more than welcome.

There is an Emily Baron/Barron, married to John, in Prudhoe in 1901.

The last daughter, Isabella Baron, was registered as mmn Shepherd.

Still there in 1911 and 1921, with more children mmn Shepherd.

Who were their parents please?

Presume you mean 1875 for Emma or Emily  :)

I would have a look at Isabella Wanless - she has a child called Ceciclia which I believe was her mothers name.

Daughters Margaret born 1898 and Celiena born 1897 have mothers maiden name Shepherd.

Marriage in 1895 - on Free BMD
Isabella Shepherd to John Alexander Wanless

10 children born by 1911 - 8 still living

I think Isabella dies in 1958 but she is Mary Isabella, also Mary Isabella on the baptism of one of her daughters.

John is down as divorced? on the 1939 register and he dies in 1951.

Both are in Warrington.

I think we have wrapped those two up nicely.

Both sisters had daughters called Cecilia which links the family together.
