Title: Ancestry free access 1921 census and more
Post by: maddys52 on Friday 28 February 25 23:12 GMT (UK)
During Women's History Month, Ancestry is offering free access to the 1921 census plus more records from 1 March till 9 March. Not sure if this just for Ancestry Australia, but anyone can register.

Thank you.

I've at last found my grandfather on the 1921 census aged 12.
Family lore has it that he was sent to boarding school on the Isle of Man.  The truth appears to be that he was in an orphanage.  I don't know who sent him there, but the record shows his mother to be dead, whereas she had actually gone off on the 'fishing fleet' to India to find a new husband (she was widowed when granddad was a baby).   :o
