I’m trying to find a marriage between Alexander Duncan and Rita. His nephew told me the aunt’s name.
He was born in Lochee in 1925 and died there in 1981. Found him on Scotlands People but can’t check the exact dates as they are to recent.
I can’t find a marriage between an Alexander and a Rita, so I’m wondering if this is her middle name or a nickname. There are no obvious names it could be an abbreviation of. I found a Margaret in St Clements but I checked and it’s not her.
I tried looking at the newspapers on Findmypast for a possible wedding but no luck. I also tried to look for a death notice for 1981 but that year seems to be missing. They had no children.
Alexander’s mother’s ms is Yeaman.

Sorry, I assume you mean Alexander was born in 1925 and not the nephew

1968 seems a bit late. The nephew would have been 13 by then and the immersion I got was his aunt and uncle had always been around when he was growing up. Although they could have lived together before marrying.

If that is the right marriage & Alexander was b 1925 - she was 20yrs younger than him & may still be alive

Have you tried locating the nephews birth as that would give his mothers maiden surname

Hi Alexander’s mother’s maiden name is Yeaman. He had an older brother Charles, who has died.

I’ll try to get a hold of the nephew and see if he can remember a wedding or his aunt’s death.

The Alexander Duncan who died 1981 aged 55 had no other initials. Suggest you purchase a copy of the death cert to check his wife's name & maiden name or buy a copy of the 1968 marriage cert which will give his parents details

Thanks I’ve got all his parents details. Finding his wife’s details is really just the last piece in the jigsaw. Having always just gone directly back in my family tree I’ve been looking into all my mum’s cousins. Alexander is almost the piece of the puzzle

You may have his parents details but are they the same parents on the 1968 marriage cert or the 1981 death cert??
He was born 1925 - she was b 1946. She was 22 when they married & 35 when he died. No remarriage & no death so she must be presumed to be alive in which case no info about her can be given here under the RC privacy rules.
The 1968 marriage shows 2 additional initials but neither his birth or death show any additional christian names

I’ve remembered that last time I spoke to Alexander’s nephew he said all his aunts and uncles had died. Makes the 1968 unlikely. I’ve asked if he remembers a wedding?

According to the nephew they were married before 1968 and there wasn’t a big age gap.

You need to buy a copy of his death cert which will give details of his wife.
