Hi, I have a subscription to Ancestry Worldwide, unfortunately it does not include access to Newspapers.com
A hint has recently appeared on my tree in regards to a newspaper article and there is a possibility it may be about my great Grandfather.
Sorry I can’t post the link but here are the details
Newpapers.com (Canada)
William Beckett
6 August 1902. The News & Alberta Irrigationist
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
Topic: Accident or Emergency Incident
(William worked with explosives)
I would be very grateful if anyone could relate what the article was about.
Many thanks

I have no experience of Ancestry "hints" other than several past discussions about their "value".
Cannot deliver the item you are seeking in the "News and Alberta Irrigationist" but casting around did spot this article that mentions a William Beckett, dated 6 Aug 1902 - from the "Lethbridge News".
See column 3 -

Thank you so much for posting the link. I really appreciate it. Sadly I don’t think the William Beckett mentioned is my Gt.Grandfather. Once again thank you.

The "hints" which direct you to another subscription only service are rather annoying. But there is a slight work-around with the Newspapers.com.
Click on the newspaper item in Ancestry then close the window that asks you to sign up.
Hopefully you can now see "Extracted Article Text (OCR)" about halfway down the page. Click on the "keep reading" button which seems to expand the article in OCR form.
Then I click "Ctrl-F" and my browser opens a little search window. Just type in "Beckett" and you might find yourself scrolling through the article.
Its very rough, but I have done this with success in the past.

Thanks so much for the tip Roger. I’ll give it a go.
