Title: Pendicle what does it mean?
Post by: Kathmferrier on Monday 17 February 25 17:48 GMT (UK)
I’ve come across the term pendicle as part of an address. Eg Pendicle of Podge and Pendicle of Drummygar. Both in the Angus parish of Carmyllie. Does it have a specific meaning?

Hi

Thank you.

I did try Google before posting but didn’t find that.

Now  I need to see if I can find Podge. Got Drummygar on Google maps but not Podge.

The cutting from the courier is interesting. I’ve been looking at Valuation rolls and the Pendicle of Podge has Alexander Duncan in it from 1895. It looks as though it may have moved from father to son in 1915.
