I'm hoping for someone to shine a light on this. Some years ago I sourced a document online which gave me the information that my Grandfather Frederick Hardy was living in Copmanthorpe Road Bishopthorpe York sometime in the 1920s. Ive lost it and not sure what I did to get it in the first place. I would be most grateful if anyone has an insight on this. Thanks.

Have you checked Electoral registers?
Was he married at that time - have you checked the 1921 census

I've found him in the the York City Trade Directory Year Book 1929 and 1930 but as Bishopthorpe - no Street address

Tried Bishopthorpe search and dont get anything ? Whick I think is a bit strange but I do know he was in Bishopthorpe after which Sunderland in 1933. I was hoping the document I had would solve the problem for accuracy of his exact whereabouts and when. I've found him in the the York City Trade Directory Year Book 1929 and 1930 but as Bishopthorpe - no Street address

He wasn't the informant on a death cert I suppose? That would very possibly give his address, and be easy to lose track of as it would be a record that doesn't directly relate to him.
Jane :-)
