I'm looking for any information for this couple. I have their marriage certificate they were married in Dublin but says they were both from Cavan after they married they moved to Widnes England.
Many thanks

Hi Graeme,
Do you have a date of the wedding ?
Regards
Sarah

Yes, we need details in order to find more information or suggest where you can look next. Nothing coming up in vital records or church records on Irish Genealogy.
-
Is this the marriage? 1883 Sandyford.
Rathdown district rather than Dublin.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1883/10941/5998915.pdf
The residence is where they were living at the time rather than where they were from.
Not much information on the cert but Sandyford parish records go a bit further than most so the parish record is online

When you reply could you please list the names of the children in date order please as we may be able to get some clues as to ancestors if they follwed irish naming patterns
But we really need some more information from you. :)

Are you wanting to go back from the couple to their parents, siblings etc or forward ie the children etc from these parents?
Either way the names of the children in date order may give you a clue if the couple followed the traditonal Irish naming pattern for children.
The marriage certificate is usually a bit more informative than the one Sinann has found
Father's name not given but notation Dead is written
Father's name for bride is given Dead Martin.
Sinann has given you the link to the Sandyford parish registers. You can also look on https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/search/
I find Family Search can be useful as well
https://www.familysearch.org/en
Which of those have you searched so far?
The rule of thumb for searching for ancestors is to do a step by step search back from you. If you do it this way you can usually find clues in witness names etc for BM and registration names for births.

Surely the bride's father was David Martin.

Yes it was too quick a squizz put me wrong.

I would like to go back because they are the oldest ancestors from that side of the family but we know nothing else about them or their parents/siblings or even where they were born. I was told the brides father was Daniel but not sure.

Hi
Do you know what brought this couple to that area, where most of the men were Stone Workers?
Regards
-
No I know nothing about them before they left Ireland apart from the marriage cert. I will try and find out the names of their children if that helps.

Are these your ancestors?
If so have you followed the usual and easiest way to track back ancestors and that is by doing a step by step process back from you, to parents, grandparents etc. Doing it this way does help to throw up naming patterns etc. Going laterally to find siblings of parents, grandparents etc also is useful as siblings may also follow naming patterns.

Yes my dad has done the whole family history but this branch of the tree ends at this couple who are my 3 x grandparents

Great. So he will have the children of this couple and you don't need our help to locate them?
If you could list them that would be good, with birthdates in birthdate order, including any who may have died, would be helpful
