Hi Everyone
I am trying to track down a notice in the above newspaper 3 JANUARY 1880. It has a notice for the death of my ancestor JAMES CHARLES in Woodend, Farnell.
I have seen the one he is mentioned in for 6th Of JANUARY 1880 in the Dundee Advertiser BUT I have just discovered the one for 3 January.
They are most probably exactly the same notices but would like to see the earlier one if possible.
Coincidentally James died the same time (nearly exactly) as the Tay Valley Bridge Disaster in Dec 1879.
Regards and thanks Dianna

It is a long time ago but I applied to the archives of British newspapers for the reports of a murder trial.
Try typing in the name of the newspaper and date and say what you are searching for giving names.
I was amazed at what I found.
I can’t remember the exact procedure but I tried Google and got some help.
Hope you get some info to move forward with.
Viktoria.

Hi Viktoria
Thanks for that but I imagine you need a subsription to the British Newspapers they are in partner with Find My Past and of course you need a subsription for that.
I may be just contact the British Library and see if they can find this one entry OR ??? Will see. Thanks for your time. Dianna

Hi Everyone thanks for your input on this! I didn't think that there would be anymore in the Dundee Telegraph than there was in the Dundee Advertiser but just wanted to check it out.
Also with the whole Australian and New Zealand papers please copy! I want to investigate that as well. I may have to contact our Archives in Australia for a bit of clarification here as to the process of transfering this information to Australia, it's a big place here, LOL
I know of the relatives in Australia (Parramatta NSW) BUT I'm just assuming that there could be relatives in NZ. Perhaps this information came from James son who possibly placed the add in the newspaper! Only guessing though.
Anyway many thanks for your help. Kind regards Dianna
