Trying to decipher the name of this Clothiers company that was in existence at 12 Deansgate, Bolton.

Looks like Levy Bros.
(Deansgate is a main street in Bolton town centre).

There is a very good web site which shows Bolton's town centre streets over the years, www.bolton.boltonlancs.uk, 12 Deansgate is mentioned.

If you have access to Findmypast.co.uk there are references to Levy Brothers in the newspapers. One of those appears as an advert in the Bolton Chronicle Saturday 29th April 1854 for the sale of goods. Messrs Levy Brothers, Woollen Drapers, Outfitters etc, 17 Piccadilly, opposite Peel's Monument, Manchester.

Levy Brothers traded as the Cash Clothing Company.

A quick search in the 1921 census for other employees of the Cash Clothing Company at 12 Deansgate Bolton reveals 2 probable colleagues of your relative:
Joseph E Moore, shop manager
Rose E Draper, shop assistant (boards at the same address as Joseph Moore)

Thank you ShaunJ

There is a photo of this shop with staff standing outside on the Bolton web site recommended.

What fantastic photographs!!
I don't come from Bolton but used to love going shopping there - and I see the jewellers 'Preston's' -- Wow -- we bought my wedding ring there many, many moons ago.
Thank you so much for the memories (even though it wasn't my query in the first place!)
-
I too obtained my engagement and wedding rings from Preston's of Bolton! I come from Bolton but no longer live there.
-
Oh Susan - what a coincidence! I always remember driving into the centre and Prestons being on the corner as I went towards the car park under the shopping precinct.
It was a landmark for me. Such a shame - that like so many shops, it is no longer there.
