Hi
I am transcribing many Memorial of Deeds from County Cork regarding the Peed family. One of the hardest parts is locating places listed in the deeds as many have changed their names or the clerk incorrectly recorded them. Most I have been able to find but the one in the deed of which I attach a part image has stumped me. It appears to read:
'Edwd. Peed of Ardkahaneiny and same Co' meaning County Cork. Try as I might I cannot find this place. Any ideas ??
all the best
John

'Edwd. Peed of Ardkahaneiny and same Co'
You have misread the original. It reads
'Ardkahane in ye same Co."

With the previous correction, it is apparent that the townland is the OSI Ardcahan, outside Dunmanway.

Absolutely correct. When you look at it , it is obvious! I expect I had been staring at a grey screen so long that day that my eyes and brain were not connecting. Thank you so much !!
