Title: Forces births in The Curragh 1890's
Post by: Sendgridover on Monday 27 January 25 15:28 GMT (UK)
Hello,

I have searched in all the common places including GRO Forces Births and cannot trace the births of two ancestors in The Curragh 1895 and 1897

Father: JOHN THOMAS RICHARDSON East Yorkshire Regiment
Mother: Ellen Richardson (nee Mitchell)
Child 1: FRANK ARNOLD RICHARDSON Born Nov 1895
Child 2: RALPH CYRIL RICHARDSON Born CIRCA 1897

Both boys became East Yorkshire Regiment and both died in WW1

I would appreciate any guidance in respect of finding their births

Many thanks
Ian

The births are both there in the GRO under Army Registrations Reg 1

Frank A Richardson - Vol 900 page 123 line 56 1895 Curragh 15th Foot; also recorded as Vol 898 page  51

Ralph C Richardson - Vol 900 page 123 line 63 1896 Curragh 15th Foot; also recorded as Vol 898  page 51

It's not clear why both were recorded twice.

Andy / Christine

Thank you so much for that, I was really becoming frustrated because I have the rest of the family all tied down, just couldn't find these two births.

Incidentally, Frank and Ralph died within 9 days of each other. Ralph near Ypres and Frank when he fell from an aircraft over Perham Down in Wiltshire.

Thanks again, very much appreciated.
