Morning folks
Very dull and dismal, still got lights on it is so dull.
Unbelievable that this weekend will be almost the end of the first month, someone on the radio said it was the longest month but it can't be , other months have 31 days, I remember the days when we had our monthy pay cheques paid just before Christmas , then we had to wait till the last day of January for the next pay cheque , that was what I called a longest month.
Two birthdays this week, my daughter and granddaughter , not sure what they are planning if it includes us, there was talk of a Thai restaurant but not sure if we will go.
Hope everyone is feeling happier this week, weather and healthwise.
Take care, keep warm
LM
-
The days lengthen a fraction as January goes on, thank goodness, but the dull weather doesn't really reflect this. Damp and dark today, with threats of stormy weather later in the week.
I rather think the time has come for me to speak to my consultant's secretary again to find out where I now stand on his list. They keep putting me off with feeble excuses. Last time they said that an important member of the "team" was ill, so it could be another two months to wait. That brings us round to February, and we're nearly there, so time to get a bit more aggressive. I wish I was more like my sister-in-law, who will talk her way persuasively into or out of any situation! "Be positive" is her motto.
-
The weather here has been nothing less than abysmal last week and this one’s not starting much better..the only thing is could it get any worse.. maybe!
some of the spring flowers are already out.. our little aconites that are a blaze of yellow surround the Sycamore tree in our front garden and make me smile everytime I venture outside. The hellebores little heads are nodding giving more colour so I’m thankful for small things!
Having spoken to my brother in Canada last week they are surrounded by snow, looks so pretty but it doesn’t stop them venturing out or indeed driving quite long distances.. the difference between a country that can cope and ours that gets in a flap at every turn when it’s not perfect!
This month I have 5 birthdays.. gt niece in Singapore, friends 80th and three others.. next month have 2nd grandsons who’ll be 9 and 3 others.. and so it goes throughout the year..
Hope you get some answers Gillg, I think one has to be strong and put oneself above others to make sure you get the treatment you’ve been waiting for.. it’s not easy and seems to vary from one area to another. We are very fortunate with our GP’s surgery and have the benefit of three+ excellent hospitals in our area .. not that I’m looking to be venturing anywhere near one at the moment!
I’m sure Viktoria you’ll be zooming around on your new scooter very soon and the new stair lift will be a great boost for you. Good luck with all your medical issues too.. good job you’re on the ball.
Well must get on with the usual exciting things one does!
Take care all, stay warm, positive and healthy

Why is there never a second in command?, so often i hear ops can't take place because the surgeon or consultant is ill or on holiday, surely there is a second in command?

LM
It just feels like the longest month because the weather is so dreary, but cheer up, the shortest month follows, unfortunately known in the countryside as February Fill-Dyke. Haven't we had enough rain? ::)
-
Today is Blue Monday so I guess it's not just Rootschatters who are feeling dismal. Gloomy weather here too, drizzly although not quite as cold as yesterday, that was perishing!
-
We have just had the most strong orange sun I have ever seen, a most beautiful sky, in fact I felt it quite dangerous driving but it was nice to see.
I am not downhearted folks
LM
-
Not a blue day at all!
New CH boiler installed - nice and warm now, :D
-
Oh that is good K.G.
Keeping warm is a real luxury yet also a necessity especially for people not in the first flush on youth.like me!
I have no idea of your age so am trying to be tactful!
My little Russel zHobbs mini oven is dying!
Burning or undercooking ——- it is about seven years old, very handy for just one or even two .
Worth getting a replacement .
Well an early night, not an exact time for mobility scooter delivery so,must be up early.
Not sure where it will go —— needs sheltering but need to see it first .
Best wishes to those unwell for some improvement , you sound very stoical to me.
Cheerio.Viktoria.
-
Viktoria at the risk of sounding like I’m just following the latest fad, if you are thinking of replacing your little oven, have you considered an air fryer? My sister got one to use while her kitchen was being refitted and I was very impressed so got one myself. OH was extremely sceptical about them but now uses it all the time. I think the problem is the name fryer is very misleading, it’s just like a little oven for reheating, roasting, etc. Does an amazing job cooking fish such as salmon and no pre-heating time like a conventional oven.
I’m not on commission by the way but I am a genuine convert ;D
Can sympathise with LM on washing machine issues, I bought Hotpoint for years and was always happy with them and found the price/lifespan ratio reasonable. When my last Hotpoint died OH talked me into getting a really expensive make that that would supposedly last a lifetime and I hate it. Bounces all round the kitchen (slight exaggeration), engineer said it needs to be on a solid floor, well my previous Hotpoints were in exactly the same position and just hummed away nicely when in use.
Pinetree
-
Pinetree, that is exactly the problem I had with my previous washing machine, almost whizzed across the kitchen, when purchasing the current one my daughter suggested I asked for one that is compatible with wood flooring, original floor boards, well I forgot or she didn't tell me in time , we actually purchased an inflatable bag made for this problem that went under the work surface on top of the machine, think it helped, don't need it now, but nevertheless it should have lasted longer than 3yrs 9 months, the cost of new bearings was almost as much as a new machine but this one I hope I have chosen wisely, as the engineer said a Maserati compared the the Cortina he called the last one, I told him in the past we had 3 Cortinas and never had a problem , hope this one last longer than just under 4 years .
Take care everyone.
LM
-
Well a monster truck has just been delivered!
I will surely need several big tattoos before I can drive it!
It has grown—- presently in son’s back garden as mine being the end house with side gate access it is vulnerable .
Gosh it was fast but the speed can be set by a button so that is modified now.
Need ramps to access my garden too as it is down two steps, son’s is level .
Eldest son is there ,they are playing with it!
Need a haircut ,must book an appointment ,no parking for the scooter as a steep garden front only accessed by a lot of small steps so no scooter access there.
Not far away but I have no idea if I can manage even that.distance.
Son is at Head Office again shortly so I need to get an appointment booked very soon so I get there AND back O.K and if not he will pick me up to get home.
Didn’t watch Trump’s Inauguration Ceremony much, his mouth distorts when he speaks ,I can’t believe him at all.
Already fighting talk about reclaiming The Panama Canal from China. How did they get it ?It was “ given “ to Panama !
Hope washing machines get sorted out ,I won’t mention mine in case it gets stroppy and goes on strike!
Well things to do etc.
Look after yourselves folks, thanks for the news and I hope the many problems that beset you are soon resolved .
Cheerio.Viktoria.

Hello again -a very long time since I last posted but still pop in and read the threads from time to time. Various health issues over past couple of years which I won't bore you with (dismal enough with the weather) but ongoing suffering with neck problem. As a result of this have not driven for 2 years - still hoping things might improve somewhat. Ever the optimist! See a physiotherapist and have exercises to do but not helping that much. Told the root cause is osteo arthritis in my neck which can't be cured only treated with exercise. Oh the joys of growing old.
You may remember my niece had twins during the pandemic - twin girls, Macy and Darcy, born 1st December 2020. They are now 4 and so different, like chalk and cheese. Macy is all things girly and a real little diva, very outgoing and confident. Darcy much quieter and into all things boyish. Loves cars, trains, anything mechanical and building things. This month they've started classes on a Saturday morning - Macy to ballet (with Mum) and Darcy to football (with Dad)! Love them to pieces, bless them.
I hate the cold so much in the winter and only venture out when I have to. Looking forward to Spring - can't come quick enough for me.
Best wishes to you all.
Annette
-
Good to hear from you again Annette, sorry to hear of your health problems, I hope your exercises start to help. I remember well your posts about the twins, good to hear they're thriving. :)
Amber weather warning here for tomorrow, I've put my bins in the garage so they don't take a walk, particularly during the night, it's not great lying awake listening to them banging around having a party! Even worse forecast for Northern Ireland and Scotland where they have a red weather warning.
Viktoria - amber warning for your area too, get your son to batten down the hatches!
Stay safe everyone.
-
Good afternoon all
On Tuesday I did a full diary on here and all of a sudden it disappeared, happened once before, so I left it for awhile.
It has been an awful day here, rained most of the day and has been really miserable
Viktoria, hope all Is well with you sorting the undercover home for the scooter, take care when out specially this weekend, have you a waterproof hoodie if the weather is bad?.
Annette, so pleased you are onboard again, I did enjoy hearing about your twins, isn't it strange that twin sister have such diverse hobbies, one of our other RCers has twins in their family, they might be interested in how diverse your 2 grandchildren are, I find it quite interesting, I always speak to any mother with twins, as I have said before I am a twin, and no, we didn't have the same hobbies, my other half is a boy!!
Annette take care with your health.
Take care all who might be affected with the weather this weekend.
LM

WOW!
I think of you often and the little miracles!
We have a new baby and I would love to post photographs, I loved to see those the little girls, only yesterday a new batch came and guess who came into my mind,?
Yes Macy and Darcy.
I don’t know how to do it and have asked but grand daughter ( baby Lily’s mummy )has not given her permission yet for me to post some of my new Great grand daughter
Sorry about your health problems ,glad you are posting again .
Many others will be glad too I am sure.
Viktoria.

Hello to all from South Australia.
I watched the BBC early here and saw the awful storm warnings for Ireland, Scotland and England.
Please take care.
Love
Chris
💕
-
Thank you Chris, that is kind of you to think about us.
LM
-
Thanks Chris, it looks like it's going to hit Ireland soon, then Scotland and the West of England before reaching those of us in the North East. Here's hoping there's no loss of life and little damage.
-
Roobarb - just checked Meto again and they're forecasting 70+ mph gusts again for us. Ireland and Scotland look awful :-\
-
Yes, very worrying isn't it Gadget? Apparently there are warning text messages being sent, hope ours don't arrive in the small hours if we get them! Not sure if they're just for the red warning areas.
These extremes of weather take some getting used to but unfortunately I think we'll have to do just that.
-
I'm leaving my phone off so that I'll have as much battery charge as poss. We've got all the necessary phone numbers on paper, just in case. Neither of us are very fit at the moment so .....
Take care all :)
-
Thought are with all those in Ireland, Scotland, north of Uk, South West, Wales and just about anywhere in between… let’s hope the met office are being very over cautious and we don’t suffer to badly 🤞🤞🤞..
I think where I live in the East Midlands… Cambridgeshire area we’re getting off a lot lighter than other.
Do take care and be safe and will hope you can all keep in touch via RC’s so we know how you all are…
Annette - it was lovely to hear from you and how the twins are doing.. fascinating to see them grow up and how their individual characters form. I think of you when I see your name pop up on the daily Rootschat Challenge!
Hope all going ok for Gadget, Mowsehowse and anyone else in need of special thoughts.
Take care, stay safe
Caroline

Stay safe all ! ...
Lovely update on the twins and development, not so good re suffering with health issues though.
Public Holiday Monday for Auckland Anniversary Day, also our wedding anniversary Monday and husband's birthday today. Several of our new neighbours have January birthdays too as did 3 of husband's family and offspring of my siblings, also another couple 2 doors away has their anniversary today and ones across road day after ours. Having a little get together at ours and intend to stay local with roads and special event drawing crowds to our beachside here for the long weekend.
-
I'm staying in today!
Red weather warning.
Violent storm force winds, gusting to 85mph.
All flights, ferries and buses cancelled today.
All schools closed.
Managed to go shopping yesterday; so slow cooker is on, with beef stew. Yum!
Stay safe, everyone!
-
It’s a wee bit wild here in Edinburgh. Schools and university are closed as are the supermarkets.
No trains, buses or planes or bin collections.
I’m so glad we had work done on the roof and chimney stacks this summer, even though it cost a king’s ransom!
The milkman still delivered the milk bless him and the birds are still on the feeders though clinging on for dear life.
A few cars on the main road outside but not many, it’s a bit eerie.
The phone warning came just before 6 pm last night. It was quite a scary feeling.
Not much rain just extremely windy and this is just the start.
Well having enjoyed an unexpected lie in I suppose I should go and get dressed incase I have to deal with something :)
Stay safe and stay inside.
-
Batten down the hatches folks as the saying goes.
We have rain but no wind at the moment, the trees aren't moving.
Take care everyone
LM
-
It's banging around quite a lot here now but not as bad as those of you in the red areas, I don't think schools are closed but a lot of trains are cancelled. Have already read reports of trees blown down locally but luckily no damage.
Hope all stays well for KG and ofg
-
Here in the south-west we had some rather wild rain last night, but this morning at 11 it's fairly calm, dry and with a suspicion of sunshine! Maybe we shall be affected later, maybe we shall escape without too much damage. A tornado in Cornwall yesterday did affect roofs and walls in some places.
I'm intending to go to our village film club tonight, but will wait and see. It's "The Great Escaper" with Michael Caine. The village hall is only 5 minutes walk away.
Take care, everyone, and do follow the instructions you are given.
p.s. Just heard that my pacemaker procedure has been delayed yet again. In September I was told there would be a 3 months wait. In December they said it would be February (5 months) and yesterday they said, "Oh, we should have said 3 to 6 months, but now it's actually probably going to be April or May", which would bring it up to 7 or 8 months. I despair.
p.p.s. Just returned from an eye check-up at the Glaucoma clinic, where I was told that I needed some laser treatment. There and then the receptionist was able to give me an appointment for this treatment. This was Friday and the appointment was to be the following Tuesday. Waiting time? 4 days, which included a weekend! Miracles do happen.
-
Sorry that you are having to wait so long for your PM Gillg. I had to wait about three months for mine.Follow up and check on Wednesday confirmed that the procedure was satisfactory and the machine operating OK.
Good news in the post this morning from DVLA. Having had to surrender my driving licence following my blackout in December 2023 Postman Pat delivered a new one this morning.
I shall be eternally grateful to all those folks who have helped me with transport in those succeeding 13 months or so and enabling me to live a reasonably normal life. Hospital visits and shopping trips especially.
rj
-
Good news RJ , pleased you have your licence back, go safely
LM
-
Some good news for Gillig and RJ,but sorry about the delays too.
Has been very windy here but calming down a bit now, dustbins were flying about all over the place .
Hope the areas which were right in the path of the strongest winds have not been too badly damaged, and really hope no fatalities.
Well stair lift in place ,my it is big but my staircase is narrow, in my previous house it was four feet wide.
Lift is charging up now.
Had a little go whilst installer was here so must wait until the battery is full.
Will not be too bad cleaning the stairs , will be able to get the vacuum tools under the runners.
Looking for a safe shed for scooter , insurance terms!
I am fed up with it all, my eldest son is very kind and likes sorting things out .
Second son is down at head office on Monday but stopped off at daughter’s with the Christmas presents ,including a sledge !
So on my own this weekend but first son will
be down no doubt and he will come anytimeI need him .
Easy tea tonight ,a pork casserole from the freezer .Just me so maybe on a tray in front of T,V - whatever would my mother think!!!
Tesco shipment on Sunday
Best wishes to all who have health problems , some real stoics amongst you .
It makes me “pull myself together” so many thanks and best wishes for better health to you all.
Cheerio.
Viktoria.
-
Good luck with you new pieces of equipment, Viktoria. I hope they make life a lot easier for you, but do try not to became too dependent on them until you really have to.
I hope you are not going to be one of those scooter drivers who barge around at breakneck speed and make pedestrians jump out of the way! Only joking! ;D
Well done, RJ, for getting your driving licence back. I don't think I shall ever be able to drive again and count myself blessed that I have a husband who is willing and able to chauffeur me around. Most of my friends now have been widowed and rely on taxis and the good will of others.
-
Sorry you have not got a licence now Gillig.
It is very limiting .I never drove a car but did have a moped.
My O.H was a careful considerate driver .
Nevertheless he was driving from The Heart Clinic ,- had not been advised or told to quit driving - the day before his last fatal heart attack .
He had that the next day at exactly the same time he had been driving the day before.
We would have been on the road the time the children were leaving school, we passed three schools on our way home.
I break out in a cold sweat when I think of that ——-
I was able to use public transport until my heart attack in September and then the collapse on Christmas Day.
But mobility scooter is at son’s as it us more secure there ,I am the end house with a side gate and believe it or not they are frequently stolen, well the thieves would hardly make a fast getaway!!!!!
So not ridden it yet except to park it at son’s next door.
Need to get new lockable shed for it — insurance terms!
Lots of blurb to digest!
Mild bright day .
Huge Tesco delivery tomorrow so shelves in store room tidied to make to room.
Stair lift all in place, very easy to use , no mess really and not too slow at all.
New bannister rail coming on Tuesday , other people will need that.
The original was a hefty one and staircase not really wide so a narrower rail is needed.
Then sit down and dread the post coming with my bank statement !
Hope none of you had damage from the high winds.
If you did I hope things are sorted for you very soon.
Viktoria.
-
Just having a pacemaker check, next week. Gillg & Radstockjeff, all seems well. Hope you soon get sorted out Gillg. In my experience, unless you have a thing for wearing very low cut evening dresses, scar's not a problem, 'tho mine is still a bit unsightly. However, as long as everything behind it is working properly, that's all that matters!
My washing machine's several years old, and was fine until it started trying to jump around a bit! It lives in the back porch, plumbed in from the start, on a specially made concrete block floor to the whole porch, when we built that to replace the original porch there. Over past few months when I try to start it, it refuses until I've managed to move it a bit - then it works fine, .....until it doesn't! There seems no logic to how much or little I have to displace it, suddenly it'll go again. Certainly doesn't like a spin & Drain! Given up to getting engineers out to it.... waste of call-out money, as it doesn't do it then!
TY
-
Could it be something like a poor connection either end - socket or washer .?
Moving it makes a connection but not a proper one, perhaps live wire in plug a bit loose?
Hope it is simple .
Tesco order has come ,all checked off ,two things not in stock.
No matter.
All away .
Tidied Utility ( dumping ground for everything that hasn’t got a real home.)room,a bit better now.
Heart clinic tomorrow, perhaps I will find out why the promised telephone
Call never came !
Also in the afternoon a local shed firm coming to say if they can modify anything ro fit my scooter with me still on it.
I will have to ride it in so a conventional scooter shed will not be high enough.
Seemingly most people get off outside the shed and push the scooter in ,I won’t be able to do that.
My lovely little patio will be covered with a shed!
Never mind ,the scooter will make life a bit easier and I will be able to get out an and have some independence .
So glad your pacemaker is helping T.Y. I can’t have one - so condition managed with medication instead.
I am being looked after.
Don’t feel like a big meal so as there is just me I think a jacket potato with a nice filling and a salad will be fine.I am never really hungry
Well my TV mag says Country File and Antiques Roadshow are both on BBC1 at 7-0 clock!
Call The Midwife at 8-00——- summat up theer tha knows!
We will see.
Cheerio. Viktoria.
-
Viktoria, as long as the connection on my pacemaker stays okay, I'm happy. With my washer, it's the stability / balance that causes it to bung up - it moves a little, and that messes it up, if I spin washing -which I don't often do.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, Viktoria, and hope your new steed - have you given it a name? - settles in well.
TY

TYk
I’m no expert but the problem could be caused by the Suspension springs or the Damper struts. It may be worth getting an engineer in to look.
-
Probably not worth it, it's quite elderly, and it works when I jiggle it. Thanks.
TY

Some machines don't work on what I call unstable floors, my daughter told me to ask if my new machine would work on wood flooring, to late I had l already ordered it, but it does seem OK
LM.
-
If you put too many towels in the machine it tends to destabilise it. (Or other heavy items. )
-
T.Y. A Not yet ,it is a Quingo-5 wheels ,two back ones with auxiliary wheels above the back ones for deep kerbs and three front tones again for kerb climbing stability.
So perhaps Anthony after Anthony Quinn——Oooooh the Sirtaki, that dance
across the beach ! Failing that Zorba——-
Still sorting out a suitable shed and charging point,There are regulations re external power points.
Slight adjustment to side gate opening
Thanks for your kind interest folks .
Bed and the last Cranford story.
Goodnight everyone.

You are as bad as me Viktoria, I am having a can't sleep night, noticed you were still a up at gone 11pm.
You will soon be out on your scooter, perhaps you ought to have a little practice before you venture further afield.
Hope you got on OK at the clinic think you said you were going on Monday
LM
-
Yes,Louisa, clinic, I asked about a Pacemaker, previously I was not thought suitable but the Heart Failure Nurse is to discuss it with the Specialist so we will see.
I have at the end of my road the Cemetery so can have practice runs there no traffic and some slopes so a good place to get used to it
Shed man came today mgr has adapted many standard sheds, for mobility scooter and did seem O.K?
No price as yet.but it will be what it will be.
My sons want to adapt a standard B&Q shed but they are not the best quality.
Also it will take time and one son,the one next door is still working from home and is not really free as is my eldest who is retired. It will take ages.
I hate being dependant and restricted ,which I am until the mobility scooter is accessible .
It will all work out .
Hope you are well, some R.Chatters have very difficult conditions .
A batch cook now , the chicken and Pirk delivered from Tesco .
I have two slow cookers ,big and small ,mushrooms ,onions .etc to do two nice tasty dishes that will be at least three portions each so something in the freezer to fall back on .
Grand daughter getting married in August and baby Lily Baptised at the same time .
Cheerio ,kindest regards. Marcia.

I'm still on the waiting list for a shunt; to help drain the excess fluid from my brain cavity. Hydrocephalus!
Consultant was away over Christmas and New Year.
Rang today, but no date yet?!
-
GP is sending a letter to consultant to try and speed up my waiting time. Fingers crossed!

Me too.
Amazing isn’t it!
WythenshawHospital gave me a discharge letter ,highlighted in fluorescent yellow marker that I was to see The Cardiac Consultant, no sign of that yet even though I mentioned it to the lovely Heart Failure Nurse- who is very good - and showed her the highlighting -this week at my appointment !
Things are so stretched and I am amazed the NHS is running as well as it is.
One real, problem is that the letters dictated by the Nurse don’t get typed for several weeks ,that causes a monthly crisis with drug adjustments , as my G,P. Can’t alter my prescriptions on just my say so —— I was questioned was I self prescribing!
Surely the letters go electronically .
Well a really lazy day ,in many ways but some batch cooking done .
When cool packed in portions for freezer.
A good day tomorrow - weather forecast.
Look after yourselves folks. Viktoria.
-
GP is sending a letter to consultant to try and speed up my waiting time. Fingers crossed!
Curiously two or three days after my GP sent her letter I received a text from the hospital which was a short survey asking patients on the list whether they still wanted the operation! They said they were reviewing their waiting list in case people had dropped out! Death or private hospital for treatment, I wonder??
-
My OH is waiting for surgery. He got a text message on Christmas Day asking if he wanted to stay on the waiting list!

Manx Care (our version of NHS) is having budget problems, and blaming the doctors pay award!
Consequently Liverpool NHS Trust has put all care for Manx patients on hold until the new financial year :o
So, I'm still waiting for a shunt, for my hydrocephalus.

Week ending 26th January seems to be turning into a very long week ;D ;D

I haven't KG, that's why I thought I'd mention it in as gentle a way as possible. :)

I think sometimes it is a continuation of a topic.
LM
-
Oh K.G.!
I find that utterly disgraceful- to have to wait for a shunt -
It beggars belief that is is not seen as a priority.
What are we coming to ?
I hope it is soon sorted for you.
Well folks Ihave to admit to an error—I was told my granddaughter and partner are getting married and baby Lily will be Baptised at the same ceremony ,what I was told was that the Vicar talked about Lily being baptised at the same time - I took that as meaning at the same or a following ceremony immediately after the wedding.
BUT no- he just talked about them having the baby Baptised -on the same occasion the wedding was discussed with him!
Not a baptism at the time or immediately following the wedding.
-How daft can you get!
Well shed for scooter coming on same day as new gate ,that could be fun!
Watched an amazing documentary about China, there have been some on this week, the Great Wall, my oh my what a feat was that, thousands of miles !
And Michael Palin ‘s one showing Mongolia and the Northern Indian states.
Got some washing out and dryish today,.on maiden now.
Have already done a big slow cook .
Another tomorrow for freezer ,will freeze in portions.
Handy to have in reserve.
Must check if I need another Tesco delivery of store cupboard things .
Imust say the use by dates in the store are very short but my delivery last weekend had a good while left on the use by dates ,I got chicken breast portions , pork scallops and salmon fillets .
Well to add to problems United Utilities are raising prices ,fuel allowance gone- there will be real hardship for many who were just getting by and those already really struggling must be very worried.
Sad about the air crash on The Potomac, the icy water so cold there could be no survivors .
Now for some better news , the lovely sledge my son bought for Flash Harry and Kyra complete with toy reindeer and toys was a great success ,they are hoping for thick snow .
He did not get down for Christmas
Kyra is at Nursery four days a week now and loves it ,it is part of F.H’s school so an easy transition.
She needs to be kept busy ,!
Well a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit after a kitchen tidy and a Imust look for a home hair dresser ,I won’t be able to park my scooter near the one I usually go to ,big steep steps,,they are close by but I will look for a home visiting one.
I can manage a blow dry or set but it needs cutting and I like a light perm to thicken it up somewhat .
Hey ho, what it is to be old!
Look after yourselves folks.
Cheerio lViktoria.

During the washing cycles, each time the drum stops, the drum is supposed to start rotating in the opposite direction.
The drum direction rotation changes about every 1 to 2 minutes it seems.
However, with my new machine the drum was only rotating one way from start to finish, causing the washing to go into a ball.
This caused huge vibration trouble when the spin cycles started.
The 2nd Engineer replaced the Programmer and the fault was rectified.

We bought an inflatable mat to go between the work surface and the machine on our last machine as it did almost as Bushinn has described , our new one is more settled and we have used the inflator, I am convinced it is to do with the flooring

I have it on the calendar for yesterday.
It is not a free service - £39 from Age UK, that is very cheap as all materials and labour included.
I do donate every month on standing order but that has nothing to do with the price.
A grey day but not too cold.
I am supposed to have means of contacting help with me each time I use the stairlift ——mobile phone etc—-something else to forget!
Hope all are safe and warm, just off for a cuppa, been busy upstairs so not had a drink yet - ah bliss -decaf Earl Grey ,has to be dc so it won’t fight with my Thuroxine tablets.
Cheerio, hope washing machine problems are sorted for those having troubles
with theirs..
I look back fondly to my Hoover Twin tub .all washing done in a day ,loads sorted as to colour and muckiness and rinsing in the spin tub,no sloshing about and a fraction of the electricity used for a modern one but - give me ease nowadays and my automatic really does that .
Cheerio number two!
Viktoria.
I am very guilty of mixing weeks up - just read and answer .I make so many errors I have to correct that sort of takes over .

They are replying to this particular subject, doesn't bother me in the least, I will still reply if I see fit, does it really matter? .

Nice to keep a thread going into the following week(s) if it is particularly interesting. Doesn't bother me either. Life is too short to worry about these things.
