Hi. I am trying to find out the full name of John Henry Bond's wife called Rose Margaret who are assumed to have married in the 1860s in Madras India. Also I have 6 children but believe there are more for which I cannot find any records.

Were any of the children born in England or were all b India?

Thanks for all your replies so far.
I agree with all the children listed. Interestingly Henry found his way to South Africa towards the end of his life.
There is one more name to add which is Margaret Sybil Bond, born in September 1877 and died in September 1878.
For John Henry's first marriage there was one child called Agnes Letitia Bond born in October 1861.
I believe there are more children for John Henry and Rose Margaret but it is not so easy to find absolute evidence. One I am more certain of is Gertrude Lucilla Bond as John Henry is mentioned as the father on her marriage certificate and interestingly there is a witness of R M Bond.
Another possible child which I have not been able to find sufficient evidence of is Eva Farren Gertrude Bond. This is based on family knowledge and believed to be an elder sister of Gertrude Lucilla.
Back to Rose Margaret, there is no information online of her marriage to John Henry and a thought has crossed my mind that she may have been of Indian descent or possibly mixed race which could have been a reason for no formal registration of the marriage at that time? There have been comments past down the line that there were name changes which could be connected plus also descendants of Gertrude Lucilla including myself have a little Indian DNA.
It still remains a bit puzzling but I am determined to find convincing evidence of our descendancy in India during the late 1800s.

Is this her burial in 1924?

If so, the register which is on Findmypast shows her as European. She died of bronchitis.

The first marriage was announced in the Times of India

Yet there doesn't seem to be any record of the second marriage.

That's important information which I overlooked on the burial records. I assume that European encompasses England as well? There has been over the years some suggestions of European, not just English, connections of our Bond predecessors although I have found no conclusive proof.
I mentioned Indian DNA in profiles of descendants alive today and my late grandmother, the daughter of Gertrude Lucilla, had what I thought was a bit of an Indian appearance but there is nothing so far in my research of any Indian ancestry.
-
If I'm correct it usually referred to people of English, Scottish, Irish etc ancestry. Some records would be more accurate and specify what kind of European they were but some don't. Maybe someone else in your family tree was mixed race if you have Indian dna, because usually if they were mixed race Anglo-Indian would be recorded as their nationality when they died.

Was Rosa Margaret Bond born as Rosa Margaret O'Douner in 1848?
-
Was Rosa Margaret Bond born as Rosa Margaret O'Douner in 1848?
I previously picked up on this name and thought a strong possibility as the date of birth roughly matches and almost an identical first name - Rosa as opposed to Rose. However, I cannot conclusively prove it. The surname possibly suggests an Irish background and there seems to be an Irish connection with one son called Percy O'Sullivan.

Was Rosa Margaret Bond born as Rosa Margaret O'Douner in 1848?
Digging deeper, there could be a transition error in the surname - O'Donnell and not O'Douner. The other problem for me is the birth was in Bengal and my research is focused on Madras and later Bombay.
