There was someone of that name in the 1950 electoral register in Hammersmith: at 171 Guinness Buildings.
Also an Edith O Davis at 27 Daleham Gardens, Hampstead.
-
Was she likely to have been on her own or with any family?
-
I think she would have been on her own or living with someone She left her husband living in Gloucestershire
-
Shaun was she there on her own does it say please
-
The one in Hammersmith was the only name listed at that address. There is a Hodson family also listed at the address in Hampstead
-
This is brilliant thank you so much Shaun the jigsaw is starting to slowly come together Edith later moved back to Gloucestershire but it was her time in London that's been a puzzle wondering where she was for those years

I don't know if Edith ever travelled? I know when I was looking up my parents who travelled in the 1950s - the passenger list contained their occupations. Not sure where else you might find an occupation listed. Are they mentioned in any newspaper items? It's a shame electoral rolls don't give occuaptions, as they do in Australia.
