Most Online family tree website and Software family tree apps have pretty unfriendly chart printing features.
I have Roots Magic, Family Tree Maker, Family Historian, Reunion and MacTree and none produce charts that I am happy with.
Do take a look at the standalone App Charting Companion as it gets greats reports.

Sliver, sounds like what you want is fairly easy when the document is part of a family tree program on a camputer or tablet or smart phone where links can be used to navigate around but you want to print out on paper.
I suggest you print out an A4 sheet for every nuclear family showing the woman and her man (men) and their parents and children.
For each parent and child you add a number which takes you to the page where that person is the woman or man who is in the middle and shows their children and their parents along with the spouse or partner(s) of the main person.
Most family tree programs will let you print the basic nuclear (hourglasss) sheets but labelling them all up I think you will have to do manually. Unless your tree is very small you are basically going to be writing a book.
Less bother to make your tree into a web site and give that to your reaaltives with a cheap computer. Several family tree programs will let you make a web site or book of your tree but probably none will be just what you want.

When working on others' family trees I've started off with linked excel spreadsheets using one of the templates below:

This easyish to work with and to to continue with different branches

Im on Ancestry, I filled all the info in under the people them printed the pages off. Ive got 4 big files, one dads fathers side, one his mothers side and the same for my mum. Split the folders up with dividers starting 3x gr g.parents, then aunts/uncles, then 2x g parents right down to myself in each folder added birth/death/ marriage certificates and ant interesting history of the area under their name. very easy to follow and for other to read.
