Title: Griffies williams Properties
Post by: Phil10 on Sunday 05 January 25 18:47 GMT (UK)
My first post here goes,
I am trying to research a property we purchased a couple of years ago, we were told it was built around 1901 which at the time I though was rubbish. Anyway, it turns out to be much earlier and after a bit of digging it would appear to be ownd by the Griffies Williams family at the same time they owned Llwynywermod which I thought was quite interesting, I have now drawn a blank trying to research it past their ownership. I would like to try and trace it back further and see if it was part of the Llwynywermod estate. I will add we managed to get a date from the internet of 1620 through tax records but I cannot find it again (typical) so the earliest I can find with no problem is 1676.  Any ideas where to go next? As it maybe even earlier.

Welcome to Rootschat, Phil.
I see that the estate is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and wondered if they might be able to help you. Sorry I can't be more help, hope someone will have more ideas.

Try Welsh Journals if you haven't already done so
https://journals.library.wales/

For example -
https://journals.library.wales/view/4718179/4727032/456#?cv=456&m=21&h=%22griffies%20williams%22&xywh=326%2C1698%2C2314%2C1094

I noticed LLwynywermod had various spellings.
