Hello everyone and seasons greetings to you all!
I am looking for any information I can find on the Burghal Industrial School, on Forest Row, in Greyfriars in Edinburgh. There is a mention of it in the Children's Homes website (link below) but I can't find any mention of it in the Scottish PO Directories or on any census records.
The website says it was part of the city poorhouse and ceased operation in 1893 but the city poorhouse moved location long before that.
Does anyone have any info on this establishment that they could share at all please?
Many thanks in advance!

Nice find, many thanks for your reply, hanes teulu.
Please can you tell me which newspapers site this is from?

It's available at FindMyPast or British Newspaper Archive (BNA).
Info about the school appears rarer than hens' teeth!

Would it be worth asking the Edinburgh City Archives if they have any information about it?

2 Forrest Road was the address of the Edinburgh Parochial Board offices whose duties were taken over by the City Council and any records may now be held by the City Archives.
Now the " Hotel du Vin which has uniquely styled bedrooms in a former city asylum".
