Sadly, I have heard from Arthur's wife that he died suddenly last September.
Arthur helped so many members, particularly on the Handwriting, Yorkshire (WR) and The Common Room boards.

That’s very sad news.
I knew him best as a contributor to the Handwriting Board.
As well as the other boards Gadget has mentioned he also occasionally posted lovely photos of the countryside around his home, on the ToT board.

Such sad news, but thank you for posting. Arthurk was very knowledgeable, but always so self-effacing, kindly and courteous when posting on these boards. He will be very much missed.

Thank you for the correction, Bookbox. His RC name was arthurk, I always knew him as Arthur.

May I echo all that has been said ,I think the word Gentleman in all its meanings is just him .
I hope his family gain some comfort from the sincere words from our friendly RootsChatters ‘ group.
