I've used Family Tree Maker and Ancestry for many years, with FTM linked to Ancestry to provide hints etc.
I've recently changed my logon email with Ancestry so attempted to re-link FTM with Ancestry using the new email address. Once I enter the details, a browser page opens with a message "Ancestry User Authenticated" In FTM, the dialogue box showing the logon details just has a spinning circle and never closes.
Has anyone got an idea how to clear this before I log an issue with Software Mackiev??

Have you tried logging out of Ancestry, starting FTM and then selecting Sync and in the drop down menu enter the new Ancestry log in details?

I hadn't, I've just tried that and it just adds a stage where the browser is opened at the Ancestry Logon - I put in my details and then I get another browser window open with the "Ancestry User Authenticated" and the FTM is left with the logon dialogue box.

Reboot your PC and see what happens.

Hi,
Is your Ancestry account using two factor authentication.?
If so trying turning it off, logging in through FTM.
Then turn it back on again.
FTM are having issues with the two factor authentication, at least on some accounts.

Brilliant - that's cured the problem
Thanks very much
