Title: Liddy family on Voters List 1908-1915
Post by: City Hall on Tuesday 17 December 24 12:57 GMT (UK)
Hi, 3 sibling members of the Liddy family were running shops in Dublin in 1908.
Mary J Liddy at 37 Amiens Street
C J (Charles) Liddy at 15 Great Denmark Street
James Liddy at 54A Lower Dorset Street
I know it is a very long time ago, but I was just wondering if any one can turn up any information/photos regarding these 3 shops in the time frame of 1908 to say 1918.
Without sounding cheeky/pushy, it is just information regarding them and their shops. For example, I know Mary went on to marry Sarsfield O'Shea and James was killed in WW1 but I would love some more info on the shops.
Thank you.
Paul.

This is a similar shot late 19th century

What isn't known is if the street numbering changed between those dates.

Thoms Directory 1911 is the closest one to 1908 that I have here.
No.37 is shown with J J O'Shea  confectioner as the occupant
No.15 has Joseph Ed. Tuomey    chemist as occupier

Thanks for all the replies. I had thought all 3 businesses involved confectionary but obviously not. Plumbing, interesting. Also a new address to investigate, Thomas Lane. Thanks again to all who have replied,
Paul.

Thank you for the further replies.
Felix, yes I would like to know previous ownership in case of a family connection.
Kiltaglassan, thanks for the map. I have walked passed Thomas Lane many times but never gone through it.
Paul.
