Apologies for the quality of this scan, it's either the first or last snap on an uncut 120 reel.
It looks like the entrance to a castle, is anyone able to identify it? I know where this pic was taken it might help with dating the reel.

Could it be a Prison?

Doesn’t look British and neither, to me, does it look like a traditional castle - more like a gatehouse or a Victorian pastiche.

Reminds me of the gatehouses at Ashton Court, Bristol?

Think it's Pembroke Castle see https://eighttowersonedrawbridge.wordpress.com/2013/12/08/pembroke-castle-part-i/

yes, well spotted, it is Pembroke Castle

Thank you Ray and Ian. Pembroke castle makes sense as we had a few summer holidays in Pembrokeshire. And it makes the reel later than I thought, if the whole reel dates to the same sort of time.
It's the top frame. The other snaps are London Zoo, a deer somewhere (probably Richmond or Bushy Park), Kew Gardens. No people. The Pembroke snap has the feel of "ought to use the film up and get it developed". I think my father had acquired a 35mm camera by this time so it's possible it's a photo taken by me on my Dad's old box brownie :-[

Well spotted. It’s been 40-odd years since I last visited. Apart from the length of time, my excuse will have to be that it was dark and I spent most of the time facing in the opposite direction - we were there for the folk festival!

Looks like the main gatehouse was photographed from a height on the opposite side of the castle.
