Title: Hobart Tasmania School over cemetery site
Post by: maggbill on Saturday 14 December 24 23:16 GMT (UK)
I was very interested to read a report of the discovery and exhumation of 1,700 human remains in Hobart Tasmania.  New works in Hutchins College a well known school's playing fields revealed the fact that what was previously known as an old cemetery area, had not been "cleared" as thought in the 1960's... and revealed quite murky practices in the cemetery in the early 1900s... Huge amount of work has been done with very inadquate records available, and a list of names is available at the following link https://www.hutchins.tas.edu.au/former-queenborough-cemetery-exhumations/    The actual story of the discovery and exhumations is on the following link https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/archaeologists-complete-largest-mass-exhumation-in-australian-history-from-old-cemetery-under-the-hutchins-school/ar-AA1vS3Is?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=810d2d0c4a6a4be38a17891ed4f24e85&ei=8     Thought this might be of considerable interest to some researchers.
