hi folks, Due to nursing my late husband, it's been years since i've been here and it took me a time to rediscover how to use the boards. My apologies f i get things wrong.
I'm researching my PASKINS / PASKENS / PASKYNS [with or without the end S]. According to Dad's Will, i am now on the right track. Wife, kids & a son-in-law [mine] all mentioned.
WILLIAM PASKINS m. MARGARET OLIVER 1766 St Mary Southampton; lived Itchen / Itchin Ferry, Mariner
I've found all but the 1st two births and that includes my direct forebear ANN,
dau ANN PASKINS b.c.1767
dau MARTHA b.c.1769
dau Mabel / Meable / Mable x.8 Apr 1770 [Select Births transcript on ancestry; no parish record image.]
a gap [another BABY?? or was Dad at sea]
The following i've found christening records in the St Mary's Southampton OPR
dau Elzabeth x.17 Jly 1774 son William[1] x.2 Feb 1776
son Thomas x.12 Jun 1778 a gap [another BABY?]
son Willian[2] x.30 Nov 1783 dau Harriott x.28 Dec 1785
son James x.21 Feb 1788
there are a number of Paskins families around Itchin Ferry using much the same family names so probably siblings & cousins.
I would dearly like to find the christenings of the first 2 daus, esp. ANN, or, where i might find them. and possibly fill th egaps where there may have been other babies born. I've tried th e usual online sources. If someone could track these down, I'd be really grateful. I do appreciate that the relevant parish pages may have been lost or be too damaged to be readable. TIA :)

I have a transcription of St Mary Extra baptisms 1681 to 1812. Mabel's is the only baptism I can see with parents William & Margaret.

thank you both for your input. i used to be able to visit the Family Search facility in Inverness but i'm housebound now so that's out, unfortunately.
Mabel showed up as a select birth on Ancestry so presumably that film trnascription referred to is were they got it from. I suppose some register pages may be missing or damaged. i tried searching for ANN & MARTHA in HAM births and wider afield in case they'd been moving around a bit but can find nothing that suppoft that. Interestingly, the man the aforementioned ANN PASKINS, marries was born around the same time. This JAMES BEAVIS, carpenter Southampton, is estimated to haev been b. 1768 + a presumed brother JOHN BEAVIS, also a carpenter same place b.c.1764. Neither of them are showing up for the same district. Can't help feeling this suggests some St Mary pages missing, damaged or illegible for the mid 1760s. Thank you :)
