There doesn't seem to be any records for Borgsjö Parish at that time. It looks like there were other Parishes incorporated around Borgsjö.
If you give me the details you are looking for I'll gladly dig around for you.

Thanks for the offer Ian.  I am trying to find the birth record for my 4th great-grandmother Juliana Jonsdotter and / or her son Jonas Magnusson (my 3rd great-grandfather).  He is believed to be the son of Magnus Magnusson.  DNA confirms the Magnus Magnusson heritage.

I've included the information I have on Juliana below.  Any help much appreciated.

Later in his life Jonas Magnusson changed to the name Jonas Magnusson Nylander; Nylander is my maiden name.

Thanks in advance,
Linda from Canada

She was born 21 May 1802 – no birth record; date from parish records and death record; location unknown
Death:   30 Nov 1885 in Lund, Hällesjö, Jämtland, Sweden
Alternate name:  On her daughter Sigrid Lisa’s birth record, she uses the name Gahle which was a commonly used alternative to Juliana.

Little is known about Juliana.  At some time between 1817 and 1827 she lived at Kyrko-Rotan Stafre (Stavre?) in the Revsund Parish of Jämtland.  The text on the record seems to indicate she went to Borgsjö in 1827 or came from there - the image on Ancestry is very difficult to read.

Her son Jonas Magnusson (my 3rd great-grandfather) is also on this record with a birthdate of 1824.  Later, somewhere between 1826 and 1835, she was living in the pauper’s house in Ljungå and her young son Jonas was probably working elsewhere as a farm hand.

Her fortunes did improve.  On 10 Jan 1836 she married a farmhand Eric Olsson in Lund, Hällesjö, Jämtland, Sweden.  After his death, the records show her living with Jonas Magnusson and his wife Brita Marta.

I'll see what I can dig up.
I've just found that the church books from Borgsjö Parish were destroyed in a fire in 1844.

Hi Ian

Too bad about the fire.  Looking forward to anything you can find.
