Title: Deciphering a surname from 1729
Post by: Ayjay228 on Sunday 17 November 24 16:43 GMT (UK)
Need help please in trying to decipher a surname in a Quaker marriage document from 1729. At the bottom of the document there are columns of  Witnesses or ‘Tests’ (could this be short for Testaments?). The surname I’m trying to figure out is Elizabeth ? In the second column.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks! I can see it now, I think it’s Steel.
