Hello
I have hit a brick wall
Found Bessie in 1911 census living with Herbert Drabble at 4 Martin Street , HooleyHill Audenshaw.
Please can anyone help advance my search
-
Birthyear & birthplace please. Is she shown as married? Any children etc etc?
1921 lookups are not allowed nor are 1939 lookups but both have a free index
EDIT
You didn't say that Herbert is her father & she was born in Wales.

Have you looked for a marriage for her? www.freebmd.org.uk

FreeBMD:

The Bessie with Herbert is 14yrs old b Wrexham
-
Daughter Mabel's 1889 birth reg shows mmn Wright
-
On the 1901 census "Bessie" is 4yrs old and described as Bessie WRIGHT niece.
Since Herbert's wife was a WRIGHT,I'd guess that the relationship would be on her side. There's a GRO birth
WRIGHT, ELIZABETH no mmn -

So most likely married as Wright. May be on the 1921 census as Wright
-
There is a Bessie Wright marriage in the Ashton RD in 1924 to a George H Wilson - CheshireBMD shows it as a civil marriage so can't be looked up
No guarantees it's the right one

Thank you.
She was born in Wrexham…surname Lawson , but moved in with her aunt and uncle , born 1897.
No idea if she kept the surname Drabble or reverted back to Lawson
-
There is no birth registration under Bessie or Elizabeth Lawson. Where did you get the info from that she was born as Lawson?
-
Looks like Elizabeth Ann's sister,Mary Winifred. married (or didn't-I can't seem to find it) Jack LAWSON about 1900.
"Bessie" was born WRIGHT.
The WRIGHT family in 1881 are headed by father Edward and mother Amelia in Ruabon.

Sorry it is wright ( her siblings are wright lawson).
1901 census states her birth and place of birth.
She moved in with her aunt and uncle and then eventually took their name…don’t know if it was legally changed or not.
I suspect she would remain a Drabble throughout her life.
She was in either the forage corps or army service corps but I have no documentation…just a family photo.
Sorry didn’t mean to drip feed

There is no marriage under Drabble
You really need to buy a digital copy of her Wright birth cert to establish her exact birthdate as that could help to pin her down on the 1939 register
Digital copies are £3 each
