He went Overseas 21 December 1914 obviously was in the Army already pre War and Wounded after a few weeks sent back January 1915
But he went back Overseas after Transfer and Training to the Machine Gun Corps as 147079
He was Disembodied and Discharged 16 March 1919

To answer your question we would need to know when he returned to the UK.
I can't find a service record for him so we need Alamo2008 to give some details.
With regard to his transfer to the MGC his number indicates a transfer date
of around mid 1917.
I don't know if Alamo2008 can confirm this.

Pte 8282  Arthur Cook 4th Royal Fusiliers went Overseas per MIC on 21 December 1914  from that I assumed he must have been Trained and in the Army pre War
I have since found Near Numbers to 8282 were :-
8279 Henry Carter Enlisted 2/10/1900
8282  Arthur Cook
8286 William Andrews Enlisted 6/10/1900

I couldn't find any 1915 Casualty listing for Arthur but assumed he was patched up and sent back Overseas but no information if it was 1915 or 1917 when he became MGC -Sorry

26th. & 27th. they had several casualties from snipers.
Not sure there would have been enough time to get him back to the UK
by the end of the month.

There is a long list of soldiers admmited Monday 11th in The Leicester Daily Post 13th January 1915, A. Cook is in the sick list.

In the same paper on the 12th, it says 139 men were admitted and yes I counted the list and there are 139!

They had transferred from Boulogne to Southampton, most of them sustained wounds in Amentieres or La Bassac.
